Jasmin & Nick's Joyful Wedding at Cellar 52 in St. Jacobs
When I asked Nick how he was feeling on the morning of his wedding, he paused, smiled, and said, “Have you ever seen Inside Out?” He explained that he was feeling every emotion heightened, with Joy (and just a bit of anxiety) running the control panel. It was such a wholesome response, and it perfectly encapsulated the atmosphere of the day—one filled with love, joy, and so many heartfelt touches.
The day began in the bridal suite at Cellar 52, where Jasmin's mom lovingly styled her hair, and a close friend took care of her makeup. The room was filled with laughter and excitement as the bridesmaids were also pampered. Meanwhile, Nick and his groomsmen prepared in the secondary getting-ready suite. This is where Nick shared his Inside Out sentiment with me, setting the tone for what would be an emotional and joyous day.
One of the most touching moments came when Jasmin and Nick decided to share a "first touch" instead of a traditional first look. Outside at Cellar 52's coach bar, they held hands, back to back, without seeing each other, letting the anticipation build. It was a quiet, intimate moment that allowed them to connect before the ceremony without spoiling the surprise of seeing each other for the first time.
The riverside ceremony was blessed with perfect weather, and the emotions were palpable as Jasmin walked down the aisle. Their vows were filled with love, and there wasn't a dry eye in the audience. After the ceremony, we moved on to portraits, capturing the joy and beauty of the day against the stunning backdrop of St. Jacobs.
Adding to the day's sentimentality, the residents of the retirement home where Jasmin works contributed to the wedding by making the tablecloth rings. It was a beautiful gesture, reflecting the love and support that surrounds Jasmin in her daily life. These handcrafted touches brought a personal and meaningful element to the reception, reminding everyone of the connections that make life special.
Gilt Catering provided an incredible meal that left everyone raving. As the evening unfolded, the dance floor quickly became the heart of the celebration. The moment it opened, guests flooded the floor, dancing with pure, unbridled joy. It was one of those rare weddings where the energy never waned, and everyone stayed on their feet for the rest of the night.
As the sun began to set, I whisked Jasmin and Nick away from the reception for some sunset photos in the charming streets of St. Jacobs. The golden light was stunning, providing the perfect ending to their portrait session. We returned to find the dance floor as lively as ever, with guests dancing the night away in celebration of Jasmin and Nick's love.
Their wedding at Cellar 52 was a beautiful blend of heartfelt moments and joyous celebrations, a day that I’m sure will be remembered by everyone who was there. And just like in Inside Out, Joy truly was in charge, making this day as special as it could be.
